Since 1980, Boys & Girls Club of Harlem (BGCHarlem) has supported thousands of children and youth as they strive to achieve academic success, develop healthy habits, and build their character and leadership skills.

BGCHarlem remains uniquely positioned to serve youth and families post pandemic and beyond. Although 2021 has been another tough year for kids and families, there are many positive moments and memories to celebrate, thanks to our friends. Because when kids have BGCHarlem and BGCHarlem has the community, we create great moments.

    • During ongoing school closures and job losses kids and their families were left distressed, BGCHarlem stepped in to provide food and necessities.
    • While online learning was the only option for ongoing academic resources, BGCHarlem provided virtual programming to help prevent their learning loss. We opened the doors to our flagship clubhouse, at the historic PS 186, to provide childcare to frontline and essential workers.
    • As depression and mental health concerns surged among youth, BGCHarlem provided emotional support and social interaction to build their confidence and resilience.

BGCHarlem responded to these challenges because of the community support we receive.

This holiday season, and always, thank you for turning challenges into great moments for kids in our community. We wish you a safe holiday season filled with the moments that mean the most to you and your family.
